Nursing Home and Youth
I hear there is some confusion out there. We ARE having youth tomorrow at the normal time (6:30 - 7:45). For those of you that can make it, we are also going to the nursing home before youth at 5:30 to assist in a small project. If you can make it to the nursing home we will be leaving the church (GBF) at 5:30 to head that way and then we will get you back to GBF before youth starts.

"Who's moon is that"?....."That's God's moon."
What up students!?! Jason Carney here. Lets revisit some of the special award-winning moments at youth this past Wed....
We played a game with spoons & funyuns & teams, of which my team was the worst.
Did we give a name to this game? I nominate "spoonyun".
Have y'all had time to consider any of the stuff we talked about?
There was that one cricket who seemed very interested in what I was saying.
Look back through some of those verses:
Genesis 1 = The account of God creating the Earth. The astronauts read this in that video I played... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z_NZ4rSvBCg
Hebrews 11:3 = That by our faith we understand that God created the universe.
Job, Chapters 38-42 = Where God has something to say to us about His creation.
Read these verses & then look around you. What do you see?
"Remember your Creator in the days of your youth,..." -Ecclesiastes 12
I hope you all have a great week & I can't wait to see you next Wednesday, where we can hopefully have more fun doing stuff that is fun to do on Wednesday at youth. Know what I'm sayin'?
"There is no 'dark side of the moon' really, matter of fact, it's all dark, it's just the sun that makes it look light."- from Pink Floyd's "The Dark Side of the Moon"

Sunrises and Jesus...
What it is students? Had a great time back at Planet Old School with y’all last Wednesday evenin’! I hope y’all like Princess Knight Rider 2.0 or PKR2.0 as it is now being referred to nationwide.
Just to recap what we talked about last week. A relationship with Jesus is not merely a list of “do’s and dont’s”, its about having the light of Jesus rising like a like a sunrise, that needs to touch EVERY area of your life.
Remember the verse that we talked about:
John 8:12, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.
Remember the quote we talked about:
"In the wake of sin's dark devastation, the coming of Jesus was his (God's) piercing, thundering announcement that now everything had changed" -Greg Gilbert
Are you tired of feeling you are just trying to be “good enough” all the time? Why not try looking at your life, see the areas that need to change, and ask God to shed the light of Jesus on those areas. Let God lead you in how you need to improve…then HE gets the GLORY and you get the JOY…Don’t waste another day jumping through hoops trying to be good enough, admit that you are not good enough and believe that JESUS IS….then follow Him in all your ways.
…& y’all read your Bibles, it’s God’s Word use it. Pray, often and consistently. And commit and get/stay involved in church…Because these are avenues for you to know JESUS more…the man who gave his life for YOU AND I.
Have a great week, and I’ll see y’all Wednesday. Jason is gonna be teaching…so yeah, you know how I used the sun as an illustration, this week Jason going to talk about another planet, THE MOON!!!(yes that was a joke, not the part about Jason teaching or using the moon, but the part about it being a planet…wow that’s a lot to have in parentheses…whoa that word looks weird, pa-ren-thes-es )
:) later folks,
roy

Bad News...
Due to rain and storms in the forecast for today, tomorrow, and the next day, @ Beavers Bend we are going to have to cancel the SCORTAR :(
Believe me I hate to have to do this, but we have done this in the rain by accident once before and aside from being dangerous in the storms, it's miserable while your there and nearly as miserable in the days that follow trying to salvage all your camping stuff that's soaked.
Sorry guys/gals:(... ;( ..."( idk what that last face is but it means im crying hard.
Hope to see you guys at 5:00 to go over to FBC Howe for pizza and some time with the Navajos.

Wednesday, March 3rd Recap...
GREAT NIGHT at GBF Satellite Student Ministry last night.
The students competed in some serious Kleenex pulling, the praise team was ON, with Michelle Quijano making her praise team debut, (awesome) and Jason Carney taught a lesson challenging us to live out our faith no matter what our age or circumstance. Way to go Jason "pop" Carney! Get it? because it sounds like popcorn, only its Carney - "pop carney"...ok don't worry about it.
Join us next week, when we'll have live bears, monster trucks, and the Jonas Brothers...ok none of that will happen but it will be great, because it's ALL about Jesus! : )
